Meet The Saving Huey Alumni It is our mission first to save these animals from a life of distress and suffering and then help them regain their health by meeting their medical needs and ultimately find them loving homes that can care for their unique needs. Here is just a few of our Saving Huey Foundation Alumni who we have had the pleasure of helping. The truth is they have changed our lives more than we have changed theirs.
“Phoebe” was only between 10-12 weeks old in horrible condition. She tested positive for Giardia and Anaplasmosis, and negative for Distemper and Parvo. She was covered in fleas and ticks (hence the Anaplasmosis). Phoebe’s skin has “fossilized” (my term, not a proper medical term) as it is just one layer of dead skin and scab. After extensive medical help she is a new girl!
This lil girl was found abandoned in the same bush her sister (who did not survive) was found in, was tiny Millicent. We had her rushed to the vet, where she quickly tested positive for Distemper. She sat out in the cold wetness, all the while being hungry and scared. Now, she faced one of the deadliest viruses that a pup can get. And she survived and is thriving now
Sweet Charlie was attacked by another dog or a possible coyote. His back was torn up badly (read his story below for pictures) and he was in shock when taken to the vet. Our amazing vet team in Mexico, was able to clean out Charlie’s wounds and sew him back together.
